There are many situations where you may want an article to redirect elsewhere - perhaps when transitioning from your old KB or when needing to send a user directly to your public-facing website or intranet.
If you don't want to use any of the existing features to redirect articles or categories to different URLs, you can also simulate a 301 redirect with a little bit of code. To do so:
- Create an article where you'd like the link to appear.
- In the body of the article switch to Code View (Modern Editor) or Source (Legacy Editor).
- Paste in this code:
<script> window.location.replace("http://www.google.com"); </script>
- Replace the Google URL with your link, and every time a user navigates to this "article" they will automatically be redirected elsewhere! Magic.
