Int'l 😺 Cat 😺 Day bug fixes & enhancements

I know our release notes have been a bit quiet lately. This has been due to a combination of things: we've been juggling some owl vacation times, plus we have some cool larger projects in the works! But we did release some small fixes and enhancements last week that I wanted to let you know about.

Also, today is International Cat Day. If you belong to a cat, give them some extra loving today! (Or at least remember to feed them because, obviously, that hasn't happened recently enough.)

Over the weekend, we released fixes for these bugs:

  • In Widget 2.0, if you had navigated to a specific article and then you went to a different tab (such as the Recommended or Contact tab), and then went back to the Knowledge tab, the widget wouldn't remember the article you'd previously been viewing. We've updated this behavior so that tab navigation doesn't clear out the Knowledge tab.
  • Some customers were getting a 500 error when they navigated to Settings > PDF. We've fixed that error.
  • When we released Schedule an article to be published and Schedule an article to be archived, we added fields for each of those dates to articles. But at the time, we neglected to include those fields in the CSV export for Manage Articles. We've updated that export so it will include the scheduled publication/archival dates. These appear at the end of the Advanced section and are called Scheduled Archive Date and Scheduled Publish Date, respectively:
The new fields appear at the end of the Advanced section for the CSV export
  • Customers using Wistia embeds were noticing an extra mystery script being added to the Code View of their articles. We've removed that behavior so that Wistia embed scripts won't add any other scripts.
  • On Settings > Basic, when a private domain is added and certain features are enabled, recaptcha is required. But somewhere along the way, we lost the warning message that let you know when this was an issue. We've revived that message to help point you in the right direction.

Also, if you made it this far, here are some cat pictures from our team:

River, who has opinions when he is photographed
Sylvester, who is not an official KnowledgeOwl cat but gets an honorable mention because he is a regular grumpy visitor.
