While you can change search settings at any time, if you're setting search up in a new knowledge base, we recommend following this approach:

  1. Edit the General settings.
  2. Edit any default text you'd like.
  3. Adjust the search Fine tuning.
  4. Consider adding Synonyms.

General search settings

Set your primary search language, choose which search controls your readers can access, and set up your search results page.

Change search text and styles

Change the search "No Results" message, the search bar placeholder, and hide individual tags from search results.

Fine tuning search

Set your autosuggest and fuzzy search behavior, control which article fields are included, and change and test search weights.

Synonyms

Create a list of synonyms to tell search that multiple words or phrases have the same meaning.
