Within a shared content category, you can unlink individual articles. This basically removes the syncing relationship between the parent article and this child article, but leaves the rest of the category's syncing intact.
The most common reason authors do this is if they need to edit content in this specific article to be different from what's in the parent article it's synced from.
Once you unlink the article, you can't re-link it, so be sure this is the best solution!
To unlink a synced article within a shared content category:
- Open the article for editing. You must complete these actions from the child article within the synced category, not the parent article.
- Select Stop syncing in the banner at the top of the page. The Stop syncing modal opens.
- Select Stop syncing in that modal to remove the synced relationship.
The article now works as a standalone article. Any edits you make here won't be reflected in the parent category or article.
