Synced article behavior in shared content categories

When articles are synced as part of a shared content category, parent and child articles will share and automatically sync more information than regular Synced articles.

These articles will sync:

  • Article body content
  • Permalink
  • Title
  • Summary (formerly known as Meta Description in the old article editor)
  • Author
  • Publishing status (except if you delete the child article; that delete doesn't impact the parent article)
  • Internal title
  • Short title
  • Search phrases
  • Thumbnail
  • Banner
  • Title tag
  • All URL redirect settings
  • Template and topic article settings
  • New/Updated Callouts
  • Video callout
  • Reader group restrictions
  • Author team restrictions
  • Comments settings
  • Feedback settings
  • Related articles
  • Pages to recommend on
  • Visibility settings (formerly known as Display Settings in the old article editor)
  • Versions + version notes (once child is published)
  • Revision history (only visible on the parent)

What isn't shared?

For parent and child articles in shared content categories, the parent and child articles won't share or automatically sync:

  • Tags
  • Old links
  • Internal note
