Hyphenated words get split on the hyphen in the search indexing process. To have searches for single non-hyphenated words find articles with hyphenated words, add a synonym for the single word.
You only need to add search phrases to your articles if they're phrases that don't naturally exist in your article body, title, permalink, meta description, or PDF content.
