The artist formerly known as the Broken link checker has been renamed the URL checker. It does everything its former self did, plus a few things it couldn't. Here's what's new:
Review all links, not just broken ones
The report now includes the option to check every link detected in your knowledge base, not just the ones that are failing. That makes it helpful for full link audits, not just broken link triage.

Find broken images, videos, and iframes, oh my!
The URL checker now checks the src attribute for images, videos, and iframes, which is something the old checker didn't do. A new HTML Tag column in the report tells you whether a detected link is in a regular hyperlink or in the src of a media element.
This means that the URL checker can now help you find broken images, videos, and iframes proactively! (And remember, if you find a deleted image that's stored in KnowledgeOwl, you can always Restore deleted files!)
Refer to How to read the URL checker links report for more information on the HTML Tag column.
Simpler filtering via your spreadsheet tool
We've removed the old "exclude codes" option in the report generation. Instead, download your CSV and use the Status or Status Code columns in Excel, Google Sheets, or your spreadsheet tool of choice to filter for exactly what you need.
Same place, new name
You'll find the URL checker right where the Broken Link Checker used to live: Tools > URL checker
For a full walkthrough of the tool, check out the URL checker overview doc. And, as always, contact us if you have any questions!
