Happy National Cat Day, everyone! A beautiful day to share some updates we hope youâll find as delightful as a cat finds an empty cardboard box. đ
This round brings smarter answers from the AI chatbot, more concise AI style guide reviews, and a couple of bugfixes. Find yourself a cozy sunbeam and read on!
AI chatbot improvements
- The AI chatbot automatically indexes all of your articlesâ titles and body text so it can answer the questions your readers ask it. Loads of our customers also keep very important information in their glossaries, so it only made sense for the AI chatbot to have access to that knowledge, too. Now, when a reader asks the AI chatbot what one of your glossary terms means, it can answer using the termâs definition. This works when your glossary settings show definitions in search results. (Chadâs cat Midna has eleven nicknames at last count, so we understand the need for a good glossary.)
- The AI chatbot used to summarize tables with more than 100 rows. This wasnât ideal for customers whose large tables hold a specific answer in a single cell that a reader needs. Weâve changed this, so the AI chatbot no longer summarizes tables with more than 100 rows. If you already have an article with a large table, re-save it so the AI chatbot can read its rows.
AI style guide checker improvements
- If youâve used our style guide feature and the option to review your article against it with AI, you may have noticed the reviews were often very long. That made it hard for authors to act on the feedback. Weâve made the reviews more concise, so they should be much more helpful!
- Related to those long-winded reviews, very long reviews were sometimes cut off before the end. Weâve given reviews more room, so they should no longer be cut off.
Bugs weâve taken care of
- Some customers using Readers reports noticed that some of their readers werenât being tracked. This is fixed now, so you may start seeing new reader activity in your Readers reports.
- When you copied and pasted within the new editor, some formatting, like the textâs background color, wasnât carried over. This is fixed now, so all your formatting should copy over properly.
These updates include security patches.
Contact us if you have any questions about these improvements, bugfixes, or anything else. And if you have a cat, weâd love to see a photo of them in honor of the day! đŸ

To start us off, hereâs Xena on National Cat Day 2024. Of Chadâs three cats (Xena, Sophie, and Midna), sheâs the only one who enjoys wearing a costume.
